BreathingRx Bodywork for Wind Instrumentalists
Steven Flam developed and has practiced 'BreathingRx For Singers Bodywork' for over 33 years. He started by learning Breathing Coordination and the science of maximum diaphragm target training from Carl Stough and went on to study many healing bodywork modalities. Steven is the worlds leading teacher of vocal breath support for singers and has worked with wind instrument players throughout the US, Canada and Europe.
Private sessions are 90 minutes and tailored to the needs and goals of the individual and may include:
1. A unique and gentle bodywork format for developing body awareness and releases necessary for maximal
diaphragmatic development training.
2. Special systematic voiced sound exercises created to isolate the work of the diaphragm and achieve the genetic
potential of your diaphragm's freedom and strength.
3. Customized body movements to coordinate the maximized the capacity of you diaphragm with the use of your
instrument to create optimal ease for playing.
Newly discovered scientific understanding of the respiratory system, along with special applications, makes these benefits possible and include:
- understand the ideal breath support from the inside out
- have more playing endurance and consistent energy
- feeling fresher after playing a long gig
- knowing how to use correct physical movement for ideal support in all situations
COURSE OF SESSIONS
Most people start experiencing changes after 2-4 sessions. For optimum results where the new patterns become fully integrated, a minimum of 10 sessions over not more than a 10-week period is recommend. Also, performers often schedule sessions just before an important performance or audition.
A healthy person should be able to maintain a basic level of Breathing Coordination within three to six months of sessions. Additional sessions may be necessary to achieve the same results for those whose health or breath function is compromised.
